Harbour Island is a destination just as famous for its pink sand beaches as it is for the jet setting rich & famous who frequent the island.
Onshore you have the option of renting a golf cart which is the recommended way to explore the island. On the east side of the island, there are 3 miles of “pink sand‘’ beaches which get their blushing hue from foraminifera‘ a small sea creature with a reddish-pink shell. If your hungry mix & mingle with the locals at any of the many restaurants and get a taste of Bahamian delights in true island style. Sip on a Goombay Smash a local favorite made with different rums and tropical fruit juices. Meander thru The quaint streets of Dunmore Town and Take in the beautiful pastel-colored English Colonial architecture that makes this island so unique.
The next stop is Meeks Patch a beautiful little island just off Spanish Wells and home to the famous swimming pigs. Feel free to jump overboard and get up close and personal with these very friendly guys and gals; snap some pictures and explore the island before making your way back to Nassau/Paradise Island.
